Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2023 general elections, has voiced his support for abolishing the bi-cameral legislative system in Nigeria.

This came in response to a video of a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker, Senator Jarigbe Agom-Jarigbe, revealing that some ranking senators received N500 million each for projects during Tuesday plenary.

He posted, "It's time we seriously move to abolish the bi-camera legislative system, especially the @NGRSenate, which has always been a coven of thieves; it is the retirement home of chronic liars, never-do-wells, and corrupt former governors in Nigeria.

"We need a unicameral legislative arm with no more than 100 part-time lawmakers.

"Day's plenary".
