In collaboration with Google Developers Group (GDG), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has encouraged young people to apply for the NITDA Developers Group (NDG) training programme in the Federal Capital Territory.

This was said in a statement over the weekend in Abuja by Hadiza Umar, the agency's head of corporate affairs and external relations.

The National Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, a division of the agency, will carry out the training programme, according to Umar (NCAIR).

“NDG Training is a month-long free intensive training programme at the NITDA’s subsidiary building in Wuye District, Abuja.

“The training is designed with the goal to add a million developers to Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

“The interns will go through a series of coaching, lectures, and boot camps to develop skills in the areas of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, and Robotics so on.

“The first cohort of the training programme will focus on Python for Machine Learning and Data Science,” Umar said.

She continued by saying that all young people from Nigeria who live or have housing in the FCT, including National Youth Corps members, secondary school students, undergraduates on break, graduates, and anyone else who likes to learn technical skills, are eligible to apply.

She stated that participants had to be at least 15 years old, and the training will take place in Abuja.

Umar advised interested parties to apply by going to https://bit.ly/3zUuBY1 to do so. The application has already been started, he said.
