The request of the federal government for adjournment in an application seeking to stay the execution of the judgement that set free Nnamdi Kanu has been rejected by the Court of Appeal.
The adjournment was rejected on Monday and Punch reports that in its noon session, the court asked the government to move its application or forget it.
David Kaswe, the lawyer representing the federal government complained about being served with a counter affidavit by Kanu’s lawyer, Mike Ozekhome on Friday.
In the case which has continued to attract both local and international attention, the government wants the court to stay the execution of the judgment of October 13 which voided the rendition of Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria on account of breach of local and international laws.
