NYSC Swears In 938 Corps Members In Abia State

The swearing-in ceremony of the 2023 Batch A Stream 1 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abia State for their service year took place on Friday.

The State Coordinator, Julius Ekeh, announced that the group of 938 consisted of 339 males and 599 females. 

Ekeh congratulated the corps members on their graduation and reminded them to obey all laws related to the NYSC program.

He noted that the orientation programme was designed to equip them sufficiently “for the task of nation building and challenges that lie within and ahead of the service year”.

“And you would not have anything to worry about as long as you are law abiding,” he said.

Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who declared the camp open urged the newly sworn-in members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to take advantage of their service year to make connections and interact with their peers from different regions. 

Ikpeazu, represented by the Commissioner for Ministry of Youth Development, Mr Charles Esonu, also assured them of their safety while they serve in the state. 

The oath of allegiance was administered by a representative of the state's chief judge, Justice Lilian Abai represented by Justice Benson Anya
