Davido has asked for space as he mourns the death of his best friend, Obama DMW one year later.
He shared photos of Obama DMW on his Instastory on Wednesday with sad captions.
“Lost my best friend today last year. Def need my space today.. RIP 44... Sad day,” he captioned one and captioned the other “Water run down my eye.”
Obama DMW died of suspected heart failure on June 29, 2021, after he drove himself to Ever Care Hospital in Lekki to complain of breathing difficulties.
He was buried the next day according to Islamic rights in the Epe area of Lagos State.
The DMW and 30BG crew immediately mourned him publicly, except Davido, who only made mention of Obama in a short video when he (Davido) was in Atlanta and he only said 'R.I.P 44'
Many speculated that the 'Jowo' singer might be going through emotional trauma.
Netizens, including a controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, called on the general public to pray for the singer as he could be going through a lot as a result of Obama’s death.

Eight days later, Davido took to his social media page to pen down an emotional tribute to his personal manager.
Davido in his tribute said that for the first time in his life, he is extremely confused and the pain he feels is unexplainable.
In December of 2021, the 29-year-old superstar honoured the memory of his late associate by tattooing his friend's favourite nickname on his arm.
He revealed his inked arm which had the nickname of Obama DMW “44 O fe rege” and some birds flying around it on his Instastory.
