The abductors of Oluwagbemiga Owolabi, an Ogbomoso-based hotelier and Racheal, his staff have established contact with family members of the man.

This is as they have demanded the sum of N100 million to secure the release of both abductees.

Both the hotelier and his staff were kidnapped on Thursday evening in the hotel; Tana Suite in Abaa by men suspected to be Fulani herders and their Yoruba collaborators.

“A ransom of N100 million was initially placed but after intense negotiations the bandits reduced the amount to N60 million,” a close relation disclosed.

The source also lamented that the families were finding it difficult to raise the huge sum involved.

"Oluwagbemiga Owolabi is hypertensive and so maintains his health by taking prophylactic drugs on regular basis."

This is thus a source of additional worry to his relations, who are fearing a worsening of the condition.

The abduction is the third in Ogbomoso zone in the last three weeks with a total of N8m allegedly doled out as ransom to secure the release of the two earlier victims (N5 million and N3 million respectively).
