Following the arrest of former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stated that he will remain in custody until May 30.
News of Okorocha's arrest circulated on the internet on Tuesday after a video of the operatives of the anti-graft agency in his Abuja residence was posted online.
The former governor will be arraigned in court on May 30 over the N2.9 billion money laundering criminal charges brought against him by the Federal Government.
Speaking on Okorocha's arrest, EFCC's legal department on Wednesday stated that his apprehension is part of the agency's proactive measure to compel him to appear in court after his persistent refusal to honour the invitation in the money laundering charges.
