One student was killed and another in critical condition after a shooting on Tuesday, outside a school in Minnesota, United States.
Richfield Police Chief, Jay Henthorne said in a statement that; “The Police Officers were called to the South Education Center and upon arrival, discovered two students had been shot on the sidewalk outside of the school.”
Henthorne added that the suspects fled immediately, and the school area was locked down.
The Police also said that two people have been arrested and a handgun recovered.
Superintendent Sandra Lewandowski said at a press conference; "This is a tragic day in the city of Richfield, our community, our hearts, our prayers, our thoughts go out to the district, the students, their families, and their community.”
“The shooting happened outside the facility's front entrance. Some students come through our doors every day. We care for them. And this is a tragedy and loss."
