An Oyo State Hgh Court sitting in Ibadan has on Wednesday restrained the Oyo State House of Assembly from impeaching Rauf Olaniyan, the state's Deputy Governor.
The court, presided over by Justice Ladiran Akintola, also stopped any removal process the State Assembly may want to initiate.
The court insisted that the status-quo must be maintained pending the hearing of the application for interlocutory injunctions before it.
The case first came up on Tuesday but was adjourned till Wednesday due to the absence of the legal counsel to the Oyo State House of Assembly, the Speaker of the House, and the Clerk.
Olaniyan had dragged the parties to court to seek an injunction to stop them from initiating the impeachment proceeding.
The Deputy Governor described the move as a faulty process.
