The Oyo State government has taken action by demolishing a building reportedly utilized by individuals advocating for the Yoruba Nation secessionist movement.

The structure, situated on Toye Oyesola Street in Ibadan, the state capital, was brought down according to a report by The Punch.

Fatai Owoseni, a senior aide to Governor Seyi Makinde, confirmed the demolition during a phone conversation but was unable to provide further details.

This development follows an incident where members of the separatist group attempted to occupy the Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, last Saturday.

Recalled that the agitators, putting on army camouflage and armed with rifles, attempted to hoist their flag on the premises of the Oyo State House of Assembly, but their action was foiled by the security agencies

However, members of the group were later arrested by the joint security personnel during the invasion.

Many Nigerians have condemned the action of the separatist group.
