The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has been dispatched by the Lagos State Police Command to the Lekki Toll Gate ahead of the planned rally by Peter Obi's supporters.
The area has been taken over by the RRS and Taskforce operatives to ensure that the scheduled convergence by 'Obidients' does not take place on Saturday, October 1.
A Federal High Court in Lagos previously ordered the Labour Party supporters not to have their rally in the area, with specific instructions given to the Lagos State Police Commissioner to ensure compliance with the order.
The court order says that Obi's supporters must not stop at the toll gate but could march through it as policemen ensure that order is maintained.
PM News reports that in light of the above, the Police Commissioner, Abiodun Alabi, has ordered well-armed RRS and Taskforce operatives to patrol around the metropolis in a show-of-force.
The Police Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said that law-abiding citizens could go about their normal daily activities.
