The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2023 election in Plateau State, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, on Saturday hosted his secondary school classmates, Gindiri Old Student Association (GOSA86), to formally share with them the campaign agenda.
Yilwatda at the occasion assured citizens of his resolve to tackle insecurity, unite the people and boost the economy of the state if voted into office in 2023.
The intelligence expert vowed to deploy technology to combat crime, saying drones will be deployed.
“We will unite the people of Plateau, we will address the State’s economy and 10 per cent of the State IGR will be deployed to address issues of the vulnerable groups like the youths, women, and people living with disabilities."
He also vowed to focus attention on rural development if elected governor.
“Proper education must be given to our children. We would carry everyone along in governance.”
Yilwatda also promised to be accountable, accessible and responsive to the needs of the people for the development of the state.
He further said more public schools with adequate facilities would be provided in the rural areas, adding that education was key to development.
He also promised to give priority to youth empowerment as he would set aside 10 per cent of the Internally-Generated Revenue of the state for vulnerable people in Plateau, as well as build business hubs and revamp agriculture if elected Governor.
Yilwatda said he would intensify poverty alleviation programmes with a specific focus on youth employment and empowerment, as he declared that an idle hand is the devil’s workshop.
He appealed to Plateau people to vote massively for him stressing that he would never let the people down if elected.
