The Nigeria Police Force, Nasarawa State Command presented over ₦18.7 million cheque (₦18,719,444.66) to the next-of-kin and families of police officers.
The cheques was issued on Thursday to families who died while in active service.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba presented the cheques on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman at the state force headquarter, in Lafia.
CP Maiyaki while presenting the cheques appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for providing timely assistance to the families of deceased Police officers.
He admonished the beneficiaries to invest the money in profitable ventures that will better the lives of their Families.
The gesture is an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police ‘’Group Life Assurance’’ geared towards improving the capacity and living standard of the families of Police personnel that lost their lives in the course of protecting the lives and properties of the citizenry.
