Unidentified gunmen have killed two soldiers and three policemen in coordinated attacks on two checkpoints in Enugu and Ebonyi states.
The gunmen first attacked a military checkpoint at Amechi Idodo in Nkanu East Local Government Area, Enugu State before proceeding to the border checkpoint along Enugu/Abakaliki expressway, where they killed three policemen who were manning a checkpoint.
It was learned that the attack occurred on Saturday night.
Another policeman who was shot in the leg during the attack is said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
The Police in Ebonyi and Abakaliki are yet to confirm the incident.
