The Government of Oyo State has appointed a monarch in Rivers State, HRM Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse, as the Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University Of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso.
Awuse is the Paramount Ruler of the Emuoha Kingdom in Rivers State.
The appointment was announced in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun.
The Commissioner noted that the appointment of the monarch was decided at the state executive council meeting on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
He further stated that the appointment takes effect immediately.
According to Olatunbosun, the institution would profit from the traditional ruler's wealth of experience.
