Security Now Improved In Zamfara, Says Matawalle

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle says the President Muhammadu Buhari administration has provided Nigeria's Security forces to return law and order to the bandit infested state.

The Governor who mentioned this in a statement in Gusau on Sunday in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Dosara, added that security has greatly improved in the state.

He said President Buhari's recent order to security agencies to deal decisively with bandits in the North-west states and central yielded results.

Matsalar also lauded the synergy amongst security operatives deployed to the state, adding that it greatly helped in reducing the scale of banditry in the state.

“A survey conducted last week across the state shows that there has been little or no banditry activities in most of the local government  areas of the state.

“Except in some isolated cases in parts of Bukkuyum, Gummi, Anka, Maru, Talata Mafara, Gusau, and Maradun,” Matawalle said.

He commended the media for what he described as “overwhelming and welcomed development” in Zamfara.

“The hitherto waves of attacks, killings, kidnappings, and raping of women has drastically reduced and people are now seen carrying out their legitimate businesses in most parts of the state.

“The government and good people of Zamfara  are therefore, expressing their appreciation to the collaboration between the security agencies and government,” he said.

The governor lauded the Federal Government for the renewed determination to end banditry and other criminality in the Northwest region and the country.

Matawalle, however, appealed to the federal security forces to continue to support his administration in its resolve to restore peace in all parts of the state.

“I can confidently assure the public that, Zamfara is on the path of peace. It will insha’Allah be secured and peaceful,” Matawalle said.
