While appealing to the federal government to support the victims of the attack with relief materials, he consoled the military over the losses incurred.

In his remark, the Senate president, Ahmed Lawan called on Nigerians to support security operatives with helpful information.

While noting the chamber's support for the military, he said, “Here in the Senate and National Assembly, we have been appropriating funds for our armed forces, and I believe that this administration has provided more resources to them to fight the various forms and ramifications of insecurity in the country than any previous one.

“So, we will continue to give that kind of support."
