Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has sought better collaboration and partnership with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) on youth empowerment in the state.
This is contained in a statement by Special Assistant on Media to the governor, Malam Suleiman Idris on Wednesday in Gusau.
Lawal made the request when he visited the NADDC Director General, Jelani Aliyu and his management at the NADDC council’s headquarters in Abuja.
He expressed the readiness of the Zamfara Government to partner with the council in empowering the youth while noting that empowerment was a panacea to all forms of restiveness.
He also noted that the partnership would facilitate exploiting the potentialities of the youth through requisite vocational skills for sustainable self-empowerment.
”We are here as part of my resolve to scout for available opportunities that will add value to our dear state, Zamfara.
According to him, the NADDC has constructed an automotive training centre in Gusau which is yet to be inaugurated.
“My government will provide you with all the necessary support to ensure the smooth inauguration and operation of the centre.
“We also look forward to more positive collaborations that will make Zamfara better.”
Responding, the NADDC director-general expressed gratitude to the governor for giving the council a nod to set a day for the official inauguration of the automotive training centre in Gusau.
Jelani explained that the centre consisted of a section for training equipment and another for the repair of mechanical and electrical components.
“The section for training equipment has four post lifts, scissors lift, wheel alignment, tire removal, OBDII diagnostic, welding machine, braking testing equipment, drilling machine, and air conditioner testing machine,” he said.
