The pro-democracy activist and Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore has called out the Bauchi State government over the arrest of a woman Rhoda Jatau for alleged blasphemy.

Sowore sounded off that there was no basis for the prolonged detainment of the woman.

It was gathered that Jatau had been in detention about 18 months ago for allegedly sharing blasphemy content.

Sowore in a post on his verified X said Nigeria must stop violation of human rights.

He posted, “The Bauchi government must free Rhoda Jatau immediately. There is no basis for persecuting her, it is bad enough that nothing was done to punish the murderers of Deborah Samuel.

“Nigeria must stop these violations with urgency. #FreeRhodaJatau NOW! Free all Nigerians being prosecuted for and unjustly jailed for blasphemy,” he said.
