'School no be scam', however, not having an education is the big scam. As a Nigerian, education is a priority, be it primary, secondary or tertiary education.

It is nevertheless sad that the discrimination surrounding the type of educational institutions in Nigeria spread to every nook and cranny of our nation. 

Colleges of Education and Polytechnic institutions suffer this discrimination the most.

Most Nigerians will instantly think less of you academically once you attend a College of Education or a Polytechnic institution.

This shouldn't be so because some Colleges of Education and Polytechnic Institutions are even better ranked than some universities in Nigerians.

We will be ranking the top 10 best Polytechnic institutions in Nigeria for the 2022/2023 Academic session.

Four ranking factors will be used as our determinants; exposure rank, influence rank, presence rank, and excellence rank.

Webometrics, an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group that belongs to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC) specialise in the ranking of World Universities recently published the ranking of all the Institutions in Nigeria.

The ranking is based on data from Webometrics list of the top 10 best Polytechnic Institutions in Nigeria.

09. MOSHOOD ABIOLA POLYTECHNIC ABEOKUTA

Nigerians prefer to call "MAPOLY" was formally established in 1980 and it is located in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

The institution was renamed Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, after Chief MKO Abiola, the Polytechnic's largest patron, passed away in 1998.

Before that, the institution was called The Ogun State Polytechnic.

The polytechnic currently comprises 21 departments, each headed by a Head of Department, and five schools, each of which is led by a director. 

The Polytechnic is arguably one of the leading tertiary schools in the nation right now.

This evaluation takes into account not just academic accomplishments but also research and practical contributions to Nigeria's technological advancement. The organization has expanded greatly. 

The Polytechnic Institution also has a relatively cheap school fee payment which ranges from 70,000 naira to 90,000 naira, coupled with a peaceful and accommodating learning environment for its students.

It will also be noteworthy to state that due to the academic excellence performance of the Institution, the Polytechnic recently became a degree-awarding institution. 

08. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, BAUCHI

Founded in 1979, The Polytechnic is Located in Bauchi, a traditional emirate and the state capital of Bauchi State in northeast Nigeria. 

The institute which offers programs leading to the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma awards received approval in 2020 to operate nine-degree programs in association with Abubakar Tafewa Balewa University, Bauchi. 

Students of Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi enjoy the privilege to learn in a serene environment with infrastructure that is well-equipped with laboratory tools to enhance the students learning experience. 

The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi also implemented the Standardized Grading System of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), for students of the institution in other to improve the academic excellence of its students.

07. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, EDE

Federal Polytechnic, Ede was established in 1992. It is located in Ede, a town in Osun State, southwestern Nigeria. 

The university is funded, run and managed by the federal republic of Nigeria.

Ede polytechnic has no religious or cultural affiliations, the institution also admits students irrespective of their backgrounds. 

The Federal Polytechnic Education offers ND and HND programs in a variety of disciplines, including engineering, medicine, the arts, science, and technology.

It also offers pre-ND science programs. The tuition at Federal Polytechnic Ede is relatively reasonable and costs less than N100,000.

The school has good roads and other facilities, some of which include a well-stocked medical centre, first-rate student security services, a sports centre, and entrepreneurial training programs.

06. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, NEKEDE

The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede is a higher education institute that is owned by the federal government and is situated in Nekede, Owerri West local government area, Imo State, South-Eastern Nigeria. 

Before being moved to its current location in Nekede, it was formally established as the College of Technology, Owerri by the Imo State government in 1978 on a temporary site at the grounds of Government Technical College. 

The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, became a federal government institution on April 7, 1993, and the name of the polytechnic was changed to reflect this.

Undergraduate courses leading to the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma are available at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede. Seven academic institutions make up Federal Polytechnic, Nekede.

The Polytechnic is known for its strict adherence to the discipline of its students.

While maintaining its strict credibility, the institution has attained a certain degree of academic excellence making it rank as one of the best Polytechnic institutions in Nigeria. 

05. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ADO-EKITI

Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti

The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti is among the second generation of Polytechnics.

It was initially established in January 1977 as a college of technology in Jos, Plateau State, and later that year it was moved to Akure, Ondo State, by the then Federal Military Government. 

The Federal College of Technology in Akure was transformed into a full-fledged polytechnic by Decree No. 33 of July 1979.

The Federal Government established the Federal University of Technology in Akure in 1982, which led to the transfer of the Polytechnic to Ado-Ekiti.

The actual relocation procedure, which started in earnest in 1983, was finished in 1986.

The institution has expanded throughout the years from seven academic departments in 1978 when 350 students (Full-Time National Diploma) were enrolled.

With a total staff of about 2,000, made up of Teaching, Non-Teaching, Technical/Technologists and Junior Cadre Staff, and 29 Academic Departments in the current four-School structure. 

It now enrols over 10,000 students (Full-Time and Part-Time, National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, Certificate, Professional and Extra-Mural) and employs teaching, non-teaching, technical/technologists, and junior cadre staff.

04. AUCHI POLYTECHNIC

Auchi Polytechnic ​​​​​​

One of Nigeria's initial four Polytechnics is Auchi Polytechnic. It was established in 1963 as a technical college before becoming a polytechnic in 1973. 

The institution is tasked by the law that established it with generating middle-level workers who are well-trained and highly talented in the fields of engineering technology, science, environmental studies, management studies, and art & design for the national economy. 

Auchi Polytechnic rest on the bosom of one of  Nigeria's liveliest and most international towns, Auchi in Edo State. 

In 2021, the Nigerian House of Representatives passed a bill to convert the Polytechnic into a university.

This is due to the high standard of the university varying from its academic excellence, High standard of academic infrastructure, and maximum manpower of both teaching and non-teaching staff while maintaining strict moral discipline for its students. 

03. LAGOS STATE POLYTECHNIC

Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria is home to the government-owned Lagos State University of Science and Technology.

Before becoming known as Lagos State Polytechnic, the institution was known as Lagos State College of Science and Technology (LACOSTECH) (LASPOTECH). 

The Academic excellence and performance of Lagos State Polytechnic have seen the institution extend in popularity within Nigeria and outside Nigeria.

Its academic Infrastructure, Laboratories, Serene teaching environs and affordable tuition fee rival most of that of some universities in the country. 

Lagos State Polytechnic courses [ND/HND] are in fields cutting across Agricultural Science, Medicine, Engineering, Arts, Management and other social science subjects.

Prominent alumni of the Polytechnic include Yinka Durosimi, Adekunle Gold, Iyabo Ojo, Seun Bamiro, and David Lanre Messan. 

02. FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, ILARO

The Polytechnic, an institution with a clear vision and mission, is positioned to lead Nigeria in providing technical skilled students and labour. 

The Federal Polytechnic in Ilaro offers a variety of opportunities for technical education in addition to a favourable environment for staff and student learning. 

Being a Federal Polytechnic, the school accepts students from all backgrounds, including religious and cultural ones.

The institution has its own strict yet reasonable norms and regulations. 

With tuition of less than N100,000, the federal polytechnic Ilaro is also very affordable to Nigerians.

The student body at the institution is diverse, and it has nice amenities like a library, lodging options, power, a medical services unit, etc.

Yaba College of Technology, also known as YABATECH, is a federal polytechnic that is run and funded by the federal government of Nigeria and is situated in Lagos State.

The Institution is regarded as one of the best in the country. 

Since the college of technology was founded in the 1940s, it has had a wealth of experience in educating students in the fields of science, technology, and business.

The college's strong alumni base attests to this experience and dedication. 

Yabatech is not associated with any religious body and accepts students from all backgrounds.

The college has a sizable and diverse student body, and tuition is reasonably priced (about N100,000).

Yaba College of Technology also provides several high-quality facilities, such as housing, a good road system, power, and a well-stocked library.
