Stefanos Tsitsipas returned to the top 10 rankings of the ATP on Monday after winning the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters Championship 24 hours earlier in Monaco and is now ranked 7th in the table.

The Greek began the tournament as the world number 12 men's tennis player but ultimately rose in the ranking after dispatching three of the world's best players.

The hard work was crowned after his 6-1, 6-4 victory over Casper Ruud in the Principality.

The victory sees him join Ilie Nastase, Bjorn Borg, Thomas Muster and Rafael Nadal as the only players to have won three or more titles in Monte Carlo since the tournament was inaugurated in 1968.

“It’s been very difficult," Tsitsipas who lifted his first trophy since beating Alex de Minaur in the final at Los Lobos in Mexico in August 2023 quipped.

"So, to be back on the podiums and winning tournaments, it just feels amazing. I can’t thank enough my family, my friends for making this moment possible. Winning a third title is even more special than the first or the second time," Tsitsipas added. "This is unbelievable for me."

Sunday's final lasted 96 minutes on the court.
