The United States' approval of a $619-million sale of weapons to Taiwan drew condemnation from China.
Taiwan's foreign ministry said on Thursday that the deal is the Biden administration's ninth arms sale to Taiwan.
The Chinese leadership has now expressed their opposition on Thursday.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning in Beijing called on the U.S. to stop arms sales and military contact with Taiwan.
Mao said; "The arms deliveries undermine China-U.S. relations and peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait."
The deal with the US would help Taiwan's Air Force strengthen its capability to defend itself in face of frequent Chinese air force incursions.
