Yobe: Lawan inspects Gasamu-Gogaram road project, commends contractor

The Senator representing Yobe North Senatorial District, Senator Ahmad Lawan has paid an inspection visit to the ongoing Gasamu-Gogaram road construction project in his constituency.

The senator revealed that the project was initiated when he was the President of the 9th Senate between 2019 and 2023.

During the visit to Jakusko Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, Lawan said, "The project is a critical infrastructure development initiative, which I facilitated as President of the 9th Senate between 2019 and 2023."

He explained that the project was aimed at providing access to rural communities within the Yobe North Senatorial District and beyond. 

While reviewing the progress of the project, the Senator commended the contractor and expressed satisfaction with the quality of work currently put in place.


"The road is aimed at improving connectivity and access to rural communities within my Senatorial District and beyond."

He also urged the project team "to continue working diligently to complete the road in a timely manner," and emphasized the need for infrastructure development to enhance economic growth in rural areas.

"The importance of infrastructure development in enhancing economic growth and social development in rural communities cannot be overemphasised. 

"As such, the federal government must commit to ensuring that projects like the Gasamu-Gogaram Road Project are completed on time and within budget, as doing so will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the local communities in Yobe North and beyond."
