British Oxygen Company, commonly known as BOC Gases Nigeria, was established in 1959 in Lagos Oshodi under the name Industrial Gases Plc (Nigeria). Founded by two brothers, Arthur Brin and Lean Brin, the company initially operated under the name Industrial Gases Plc before being renamed British Oxygen Company in 1906. During World War I, BOC played a crucial role in providing gases for munitions and medical needs.
BOC Gases Nigeria PLC is involved in the manufacturing of industrial and medical gases, as well as the sale of special gases, welding equipment, and medical equipment. The company has a rich history and played a significant role during times of global conflict.
In 2006, BOC became officially recognized as the multinational and British-based industrial company, operating as part of Linde plc. In September 2004, BOC transitioned its operations to Linde, marking a significant development in its corporate history.
