Champion breweries plc formerly Champion Breweries limited is a Nigeria company located in Akwa Ibom state; the company is the producers of champion lager beer and champ Malta. Champion Breweries Plc., incorporated on 31st of July 1974 strives to maintain and sustain rigorous production standards through the deployment of cutting edge technology and the application of human capital.
 
Since the launch of the brands in 1976, they have been guided by the sterling values of safety, quality, discipline, people development and team spirit to deliver to their consumer’s premium quality brands.
 
They began manufacturing in 1976 with a capacity of 150,000 hecto liters of champion beer and 10,000 liters of champ Malta
 
While ownership structure has changed over the years, Champion breweries plc is today under the technical supervision of its controlling shareholders, a global beverage giant Heineken NV, and this has put the company in a stead to even surpass every previous achievement on sales, consumer satisfaction and community engagement. Champion Breweries plc is involved in brewing and marketing of champion lager beer with a golden colour and aroma. The company’s Malta is available in approximately 60 centimeters (cl) bottles (12bottles per crate).
The company is a subsidiary of the Raysun Nigeria limited.
 
At the formation the firm patronized a plastic manufacturing company to produce crates for holding the products instead of paper cartons and other bear products followed.in 2014 Heineken international acquired a majority equity in the company.
