Guinea Insurance PLC is a Nigerian insurance company that provides various insurance products and services. Insurance companies typically offer a range of coverage options, including life insurance, general insurance, and special risk insurance.

Established in 1948, Guinea Insurance PLC traces its origins to the inception of the Insurance Department by the British West African Corporation Limited (BEWAC). Initially serving as Chief Agents in Nigeria for Legal and General Assurance Society Limited of London, the agency expanded in 1950 to include Norwich Union Fire Insurance Society Limited, United Kingdom. In pursuit of business growth and seizing available opportunities, Legal & General Assurance Society Limited, Norwich Union Fire Insurance Society Limited, Northern Region Development Corporation Limited, and British West African Corporation Limited collaborated to incorporate an insurance company.

Guinea Insurance Company Limited commenced operations on December 3, 1958. Initially, overseas shareholders held a 51% majority before the indigenization decree of 1976, which rebalanced the ownership to 60% Nigerian interest and 40% overseas. In 1988, responding to evolving dynamics, the overseas shareholders divested their 40% holding, resulting in the transformation of the company into a 100% Nigerian-owned entity.

Presently, GUINEA INSURANCE PLC is efficiently managed by a team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals leveraging modern technology. The vibrant and resourceful Board of Directors, under the leadership of Godson Chukwudi Ugochukwu, Esq., provides strategic guidance to propel the company forward in the dynamic insurance landscape.
