NCR Nigeria PLC was incorporated in Nigeria under the Companies and Allied Matters Act CAP C20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 as a Public Limited Liability Company, and is domiciled in Nigeria. The Company commenced operations in Nigeria on December 9, 1949, under the name of National Cash Register Company (West Africa) Limited. The company was granted a listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on May 30 1979. The company adopted its present name of NCR (Nigeria) Plc in 1996.
NCR Nigeria PLC is the first Multinational ICT Company quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The company has positively been involved in many facets of Nigerian society. These include helping Nigeria convert to the decimal system being the dominant supplier of cash registers then, which were the precursors of the calculators and computers, and also pioneering the ATM revolution in Nigeria. NCR introduced the first ATM in Nigeria in 1989.
