Personal Life

Alec Baldwin was born in New York. He has three brothers and two sisters. In May 1990, he met actress Kim Basinger on the set of the film The Marrying Man, and they got married in August 1993. Their daughter Ireland was born in October 1995.

Baldwin and Basinger separated in December 2000 and finalized their divorce on September 3, 2002.

In August 2011, the actor started dating Hillary Thomas, a yoga instructor and they became engaged in April 2012. They married in June of that same year and have six children together.

Education

Baldwin attended Alfred G. Berner High School, Massapequa, and proceeded to the George Washington University. He later transferred to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at NYU in 1994.

Career

He began acting on Broadway in 1986 and was cast as Billy Aldrich in the NBC soap opera The Doctors. His film debut came in 1987 with a minor role in Forever, Lulu. He earned a leading man status playing the character of Jack Ryan in The Hunt for Red October (1990).

Between 1994 and 1997, the actor starred in films like The Shadow, The Edge, The Juror, and Heaven's Prisoners. He made a shift towards character acting in 2001 with Pearl Habor.

Baldwin appeared in the Martin Scorcese films The Aviator (2004) and The Departed (2006). He starred alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015), reprising the role in Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018).

He has also lent his voice to the following animated films Cats & Dogs (2001), The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie (2004), Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008), Rise of the Guardians (2012), The Boss Baby (2017), and The Boss Baby: Family Business (2021).
