Personal Life

Alexander Skarsgard was born in Stockholm, Sweden. He has been romantically linked with some of Hollywood's famous actresses; some of them rumours, while others have been confirmed.

According to reports, the actor stayed single for a time before dating actress Alexa Chung in 2015. They ended their relationship after two years but were spotted together in London, and later in New York. Their on and off relationship finally ended in 2020.

Skarsgard and Toni Garn allegedly started dating in 2020 but this was never confirmed as sources said that they was nothing romantic between them.

Education

After completing his military service in 1996, Skarsgard attended the Leeds Metropolitan University in England for six months. He enrolled to study English but says he didn't do much studying and had a "blast" instead.

He enrolled in a theater course at Marymount Manhattan College in 1997 and moved to New York, returning to Stockholm after six months.

Career

When he returned to Sweden, Skarsgard started taking acting jobs, featuring in film, TV, and stage productions. While vacationing in the U.S. he auditioned for and got the part of Meekus in Zoolander (2001).

He moved to Los Angeles in 2004 but continued to work in Sweden. His much-needed break came when he was cast in the HBO miniseries Generation Kill.

The actor was later cast as the 1,000-year old vampire Eric Northman in the HBO series True Blood. In 2011, he appeared in the remake of Straw Dogs and was seen alongside Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna in the sci-fi movie Battleship (2021).

Skarsgard starred as the titular character in The Legend of Tarzan (2016) opposite Margot Robbie, who played his wife, Jane. He worked for 7 months, bulking up to play Tarzan.

He played a scientist who is called upon to help find a home for Kong in the 2021 monster film Godzilla vs. Kong.
