He was born on May 26 in Osun state, but he grew up at the Army Barracks, Ilaro. He had his secondary school education in Baptist Secondary School, Lagos and then studied Theatre Arts at the University of Ibadan.
Antar started his acting career by doing stage dramas in 1976. However, he began professionally when he was 37 under the tutelage of Ben Tomoloju. His first role was a major general in movie titled ‘Everyone Wants to Know’. This was during his days at ‘Kakaki Squad’.
He was the director of the first episode of ‘Super Story’, an award-winning soap opera produced by Wale Adenuga. He also directed ‘Oh Father, Oh Daughter’ and ‘This Life’ also produced by Wale Adenuga.
