Barry Jhay is a Nigerian singer and son of renowned Fuji singer, Sikiru Ololade Ayinde Balogun, popularly known as Barrister.

Barry Jhay was born on February 13, 1993, in Ibadan, Oyo, a southwestern state. He had both his primary and secondary education but could not advance to the University level because of his love for music production and sound engineering.

Career

Barry Jhay once said that music-making was not his plan, but based on his father’s dying wish he had to embrace the craft.

The singer attained the limelight when he released his debut single ‘Aiye’ in 2018. The song had less promotion but received much airplay due to the quality of the tune. He has dropped several singles and projects after that which got him some awards and nominations.

Some of his songs include; Aiye, Go Down, Don Pablo, Olodo (ft DJ Sound), Tomorrow, Pa Mi, Only You, Superstar, and Money.

Trivia

On March 7, 2021, Barry Jhay was arrested in connection to the death of his boss and CEO of Cash Nation Record Label, Babatunde Oyerinde Abiodun, aka Kashy Gordon.

Barry became a prime suspect after he recorded a video of his bloodied mouth and accused the late Kashy Gordon of injuring him during a confrontation. 

However, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) placed Barry Jhay outside the apartment building eleven minutes to the death of Kashy and proved that he did not return to the building except in the company of the Ghana Police officers
