Chloe Grace Moretz lives in Studio City, Los Angeles. Her business manager is her brother, Brandon and her other brother Trevor has been her acting coach since 2010, accompanying her on trips and press dates when her parents are unable to attend.
She was born in Atlanta and grew up in Georgia. Her mother, Teri Duke, is a nurse practitioner, and her father, McCoy Moretz, was a plastic surgeon.
Brandon, Trevor, Colin, and Ethan are her four older brothers. Her family is "very Christian," specifically Southern Baptist, according to her.

Moretz made her TV debut in two episodes of The Guardian, and her film debut as Molly in Heart of the Beholder (2005). She received widespread attention with the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror (2005).
She protrayed the character of Hit-Girl in Matthew Vaughn's action film Kick-Ass, based on the comic book series of the same name. Moretz trained with Jackie Chan's stunt team for three months prior to filming and performed the majority of her own stunts while on location.
Moretz was chosen to serve as one of three members of the Tribeca Film Festival's Narrative Short Film Competition jury in April 2016, alongside Mike Birbiglia and Sheila Nevins.
