Personal Life

Chris Hemsworth was born in Melbourne, Victoria, and is the second in a family with three sons. He started a relationship with Spanish model Elsa Pataky in 2010. They married in December of that same year.

The couple has three children; a daughter (born in May 2012) and twin sons (born in March 2014).

Education

He attended high school at Heathmont College and studied American English at Screenwise Film & TV School for Actors in Sydney.

Career

Hemsworth started his Hollywood career by making appearances in different TV shows, starring in two episodes of the fantasy television series Guinevere Jones in 2002.

He played Kim Hyde in the Australian soap opera Home and Away and portrayed George Kirk in J. J. Abrams' Star Trek (2009).

The actor starred opposite Sean Bean in the 2010 movie Ca$h. It was his first film in the United States. He was cast as the eponymous god of thunder in the Marvel superhero film Thor (2011) in what became his breakthrough in the industry.

He reprised the role of Thor in several other MCU films, including its sequels. He shot the horror movie Cabin in the Woods (2012) and starred alongside Kristen Stewart in Snow White and the Huntsman (2012).

In 2013, Hemsworth played 1976 Formula 1 World Champion James Hunt in Ron Howard's sports drama Rush. It was a critical and commercial success.

He starred in Michael Mann's action thriller Black Hat in 2013. Poorly reviewed, the movie bombed at the box office. He reprised the role of Eric the Huntsman in The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016).

In 2019, Hemsworth played a starring role in a Men in Black spinoff titled Men in Black: International and filmed the Netflix movie Extraction the following year.
