Personal Life

Dave Bautista was born in Washington D.C. to a Greek mother and a Filipino father. He grew up in poverty and witnessed three murders before he reached the age of nine.

He got married to his first wife Glenda in 1990. They have two daughters together; Keilani (born in 1990) and Athena (born in 1992). The couple divorced in 1998.

Bautista married his second wife Angie in October 1998. They have a son together named Oliver. They got divorced in 2006. In October 2015, the star tied the knot with pole dancer Sarah Jade. They separated in early 2019.

Wrestling Career

His professional wrestling career started in 1999 and he signed up with the WWF (now WWE) in 2000. From 2002 to 2010, he wrestled with the ring name 'Batista' and was known for his brute strength and offensive attacks.

Bautista won several championships during his stint with WWE and after facing off with Triple H in 2019 at Wrestlemania 35 in April 2019, he retired from wrestling.

Acting Career

He appeared and was a guest star in various TV shows as himself and played an alien in the eighth episode of season 6 of Smallville. He also had a cameo appearance as himself in the Australian soap opera Neighbours in June 2009.

Bautista starred alongside Rob Van Dam and Ja Rule in the action film Wrong Side of Town (2010) and played the antagonistic Brass Body in The Man in the Iron Fists (2012).

His breakthrough came when he was cast as Drax the Destroyer in the 2014 Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy.  He reprised the role in several other films in the MCU.

The actor portrayed Mr. Hinx in the James Bond movie Spectre (2015) and starred as the villainous Tong Po in the reboot of Kickboxer.

He joined the cast of Blade Runner 2049, playing the role of Sapper Morton. The film was released in October 2017. In January 2019, he was cast in the forthcoming science-fiction epic Dune.

Bautista played the lead role in Zack Snyder's zombie heist action film Army of the Dead (2021).
