He was born in Southwest Nigeria to an Aircraft Engineer father – Adeyemi Okanlawon – and a baker and entrepreneur mother – Adeyinka Okanlawon. Deyemi had his primary and secondary education at Taikenny Nursery and Primary School in Lagos and International School, Lagos respectively. Upon completion of his secondary education, he proceeded to the University of Lagos where he bagged a degree in Chemical Engineering. He also got a certificate in Acting for Film from the New York Film Academy.
Deyemi started acting at age 5, when he featured in an end-of-year play during his primary education. While studying at the university, he became an active member of the drama groups Gf(x) (Harvesters Company), Xtreme Reaction and Snapshots (Covenant Christian Centre).
He made his acting debut in the movie ZR-7 after which he featured and co-produced many more short films including ‘A Grain of Wheat’. By 2012, he had gained popularity for his appearances in web series and short films.
In 2013, he became a full-time actor with many movie credits. He has appeared on music videos for Aramide and Waje and also OLX and GLO television commercials. Prior to becoming a full actor, he had a career in Sales and Marketing.
