Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known by his stage name ‘Don Jazzy’ or Don Baba Jay is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur and on top of all, a philanthropist. Don Jazzy was born on 26th November 1982 in Umuahia, Abia state, but he is originally from Delta state.
He collaborated with D’Banj to form the defunct Mo’Hits Records in 2004. In March 2012, Don Jazzy and D’Banj separated based on artistic differences.
In 2011, Kanye West employed Don Jazzy as producer at Very Good Beatz, where he worked with Kanye West and Beyonce.
In 2012, he formed Mavin Record with the desire of making it the production power house of African music. The Record Label has produced some of Nigerian most talented musicians with the likes of Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Ladipoe, Johnny Drille, the DNA twins and Rema.
