Personal life

Emily Blunt was born in Wandsworth, London. She is the second of four children. She dated Canadian musician Michael Bublé for three years after they met in 2005. They lived together in Vancouver, British Columbia, for a while before splitting up in 2008.

Blunt and American actor and director John Krasinski started a relationship in November 2008 and they got married on July 10, 2010, in Italy, after becoming engaged in August 2009.

The couple has two children, one born in 2014 and the other in 2016. They live in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of New York City.

Education

She attended Ibstock Place School in Roehampton, southwest London, and then Hurtwood House, a private sixth-form college in Dorking, Surrey, where she studied in the performing arts.

Career

Blunt made her acting debut in 2001 in the stage production of The Royal Family. She subsequently played Queen Catherine Howard in the Henry VIII miniseries and the TV film Boudica (2003).

She made her feature film debut in the drama My Summer of Love (2004) and achieved a career breakthrough two years later with a starring role in Gideon's Daughter and The Devil Wears Prada.

The actress starred in four films in 2007; Wind Chill, The Jane Austen Book Club, Dan in Real Life, and Charlie Wilson's War, a biographical comedy-drama.

She played Queen Victoria in the independent period drama The Young Victoria in 2009. The film focused on her early life and reign, as well as her marriage to Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

Blunt starred alongside Benicio del Toro in The Wolfman, a horror film based on the 1941 film of the same name, in 2010. The film received mostly negative reviews and was one of the biggest box office flops ever.

She was seen with Ewan McGregor in the British romantic comedy-drama Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and appeared in the romantic comedy The Five-Year Marriage.

Blunt starred in Edge of Tomorrow in 2014 and in Denis Villeneuve's crime thriller Sicario, which was released in 2015. She also appeared in The Huntsman: Winter's War in 2016.

In 2018, she played a protective wife and mother in the critically-acclaimed film A Quiet Place. It was directed by her husband John Krasinski (who also starred in it).
