Femi Brainard is an actor, playwright, poet, filmmaker, producer, director, model, and dramatist who was born on May 14, 1970, in Sagamu, a city in Ogun State Nigeria. He originally hails from Odosenbora, a town in Ogun State's Ijebu North-East local government district.
He had his basic education at Satellite Town Primary School in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos before proceeding to the Airforce Secondary School in Ikeja, Lagos. After his secondary education, he moved on to Obafemi Awolowo University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dramatic Arts while being admitted for Religious Studies.
Brainard started acting professionally in 1991 while he was still studying at Obafemi Awolowo University. That same year he appeared in the Yoruba stage play 'Eniyan'. He later appeared in a film called Orisun (meaning Origin), which was made by members of the Obafemi Awolowo University faculty. However, his first television appearance was in 2003 in an MTN Group ad called 'Dance with me.'
He is best known for his role as 'Oscar' in the Nigerian soap opera 'Domino'. He has since appeared in over a hundred Nigerian films, producing and directing a few numbers of them.
He got married to his wife, Uche Brainard, in November 2012. Uche is a radio presenter who works with Top Radio 90.9 FM, a Lagos-based radio station.
