Personal life

Halle Bailey was born into a family of four children; she has two older sisters and a younger brother. She and her sister Chloe began writing songs as children while learning to play musical instruments by watching YouTube tutorial videos.

Their father Doug Bailey (who is their co-manager) also taught them to do things on their own and helped in teaching them songwriting when they were eight and 10 years old.

Career

Halle and her sister Chloe (known musically as Chloe x Halle) made their professional music debut with the EP 'Sugar Symphony', released on April 19, 2016.

They were also the opening act for Beyonce in her Formation World Tour in late June and early August 2016.

The duo continued to gain worldwide recognition with their musical career and on July 3, 2019, Disney announced that Halle had been cast as Princess Ariel in the live-action of The Little Mermaid, which was released on May 26, 2023.

Her musical influences are rooted in Jazz and listening to Billie Holiday as a child.
