She was born on January 29, 1978, in Lagos where she had her primary and secondary education. She proceeded to the University of Lagos where she had her Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate Degree in Theatre Arts in 2010, 2012 and 2019 respectively.
She started out as a front desk manager at Eko FM whilst doubling as a voice-over artiste and backup. During this period, she featured on several music projects with artistes and music groups including P-Square, Infinity, Olufunmi, Yinka Davies, etc.
Helen became known when she played the role of ‘Tatafo’ a comic character on a Radio Continental programme ‘Wetin Dey’, 102.3 FM, Lagos. She uses a satirical approach in addressing societal issues.
She also presents programmes on TV Continental.
As an actress, she has appeared in movies like Damage, The Return of Jenifa, The Place, A Wish, Igboya, Mama Put, Osas (Omoge Benin), Alakada 2, Akii The Blind, Abiodun Kogberegbe, When Love Happens, Life Burial and Alakada Reloaded.
As a singer, she released her debut album ‘Welcome Party’ in 2012. Although the album was not well received.
In 2012, Helen launched her bridal and fabric boutique called Massive Fabrics and Bridals. Following the success of her boutique, she went on to open three other outlets of the boutique in different parts of Lagos.
She also opened a film and theatre academy which she named ‘The Helen Paul Theater and Film Academy’ in 2014.
She had endorsement deals from several large companies and brands like Harpic, Globacom, INEC and NCC.
