Personal life

Henry Cavill was born in Jersey, Channel Islands, the fourth of five boys to a Catholic family. His mother, Marianne Dalgliesh, worked as a bank secretary. Colin Cavill, his father, was born in Chester, England, and worked as a stockbroker.

He made his relationship with Natalie Viscuso official on Instagram in April 2021.

Education

The movie star attended St. Michael's Preparatory School in Saint Saviour, Jersey, before studying at Stowe School in Stowe, Buckinghamshire.

Career

Cavill's Hollywood career began with roles in Laguna (2001) and Kevin Reynolds' adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo (2002).

He made an appearance in BBC's The Inspector Lynley Mysteries (2002), the TV film Goodbye, Mr. Chips (2002), and the BBC series Midsomer Murders (2003).

In 2003, Cavill appeared in a supporting role in I Capture the Castle, which was followed by Hellraiser: Hellworld (2005), Red Riding Hood (2006), and Tristan & Isolde (2006).

He played a minor part in Matthew Vaughn's adaptation of Stardust (2007). Despite reports that he auditioned for and was offered the role of Batman in Batman Begins, Cavill confirmed that he never auditioned for or was offered the role.

Cavill starred in director Joel Schumacher's horror film Blood Creek (2008) and had a supporting role in Woody Allen's comedy movie Whatever Works (2009).

In January 2011, it was announced that he had been cast to play Clark Kent/Superman in the DC movie Man of Steel (2013). He reprised the role in Batman v Superman: Dwan of Justice (2016), Justice League (2017), and Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021).

He co-starred in the film adaptation of the spy series The Man from U.N.C.L.E.(2015) with Armie Hammer.
