Personal life

Hrithik Roshan is a Bollywood actor from India who has played a variety of roles and is well known for his dancing abilities. He was born in Bombay to a prominent Bollywood family.

Roshan married Sussanne Khan in a private ceremony in Bangalore on December 20, 2000. They divorced in November 2014 after they separated in December 2013.

They maintain that they parted on good terms. They have two children together.

Education

Roshan attended Sydenham College, where he took part in dance and music festivals while studying and graduated with a degree in Commerce.

Career

Roshan has worked frequently with his father, Rakesh Roshan. In the 1980s, he appeared briefly as a child actor in several films and later worked as an assistant director on four of his father's films.

His first leading role was in the box office hit Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000), for which he won several awards. He starred in the 2003 science fiction film Koi... Mil Gaya, for which he received two Filmfare Awards. He also appeared in its sequels, Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2008).

Roshan was set to make his feature film debut as a lead actor opposite Preity Zinta in Shekhar Kapur's Tara Rum Pum Pum, which was later canceled.

Instead, he appeared in his father's romantic drama Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000), co-starring with another debutante, Ameesha Patel.

Roshan appeared in two films in 2001, the first of which was Subhash Ghai's Yaadein, a romantic drama in which he co-starred with Kareena Kapoor and reunited with Shroff. Despite being widely anticipated, Yaadein was widely panned by critics.

Roshan was paid Rs500 million (US$7.0 million) for his role as a farmer in 2016 BC who travels to Mohenjo-daro in Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro (2016), It was a record-breaking remuneration for an Indian actor. He trained for three months to achieve the "lithe" and "agile" physique required for his role.

The actor's career prospects improved in 2019 after a two-year absence from the big screen. He first appeared in Vikas Bahl's biographical film Super 30.

Quotes

"I am glad I have the intelligence to understand what is happening to me. If I allow myself to get affected by all this hype, I'll stunt my growth as an actor and be damned for life. I know that I still have a long way to go before I can even aspire to equal the achievements of any of the superstars. I know I am good at my job, and I am sure I will be damn good one day but right now, I also know how bad I can be."

"My big dream is to take our cinema to a world platform. The idea of acting in a Jackie Chan film doesn't excite me. That's betrayal."

"I'd say that I am a guide to them (Hrehaan and Hridaan), a friend to them and a father to them. Different things at different times."
