She was born on January 14, 1982, in Liberia where she grew up. In 1991, her family moved back to Nigeria and she had her secondary education at Ajumoni Secondary School in Lagos State. She is also a graduate of Economics at Lagos State University.

Iretiola professionally joined the Nigerian movie industry in 1999. She has also featured in over 50 Yoruba-speaking movies alongside prominent actors including Funke Akindele-Bello, Lateef Adedimeji, Mercy Aigbe, Odunlade Adekola and Iyabo Ojo.

She has acted in over 50 movies some of which include “The Return of Jenifa, Heavy Storm, Jenifa, Iseju Meji (Two Minutes), Ifé Owó (The Love of Money).

In the course of acting, some of the awards Ireti has won include; Best Actress’ in a supporting role at the African Movie Academy Awards, Best supporting actress (Yoruba) at the Golden Icon Movie Academy Awards, Best Indigenous actress in a leading role at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award and Best Yoruba actress at Afro Hollywood award.

 

PERSONAL LIFE

In 2008, she got married to Bakky Adeoye, a fellow actor but they are separated now. The union was blessed with two children.
