Jacob Tremblay was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. His mother is a homemaker while his father is a detective.

Career

Tremblay started his acting career by appearing on TV shows. He made his movie debut in the animated film The Smurfs 2 (2013). He played the son of actress Brie Larson's character in the critically-acclaimed film Room (2015).

In 2016, he starred in the horror film Before I Wake alongside Kate Bosworth and was seen in a supporting role in the thriller Shut In. He further played the character of Wes Firth in the adventure drama Burn Your Maps.

The actor had a cameo role in Doctor Sleep (2019) and voiced the lead character in the 2021 Disney animated film Luca.
