Jake Gyllenhaal was born in Los Angeles, California. He was romantically involved with actress Kirsten Dunst from 2002 to 2004.

He dated actress Reese Witherspoon from 2007 to 2009 before beginning a relationship with singer Taylor Swift from October 2010 to March 2011.

The actor also had an affair with model Alyssa Miller from July 2013 to December of that same year. Since 2018, he has been in a relationship with French model Jeanne Cadieu.

Education

Gyllenhaal graduated attended the Harvard-Westlake School, Los Angeles and then Columbia University. He dropped out after two years to pursue a career in acting.

Career

He had his first acting role in the 1991 comedy City Slickers, playing the role of Billy Crystal's son. He then appeared in A Dangerous Woman (1993) along with sister Maggie.

Gyllenhaal got his first starring role in October Sky, and it was described as his breakout performance. His next film Donnie Darko disappointed at the box office but eventually became a cult favourite.

He achieved more success after his appearance with Jennifer Aniston in The Good Girl (2002). He was cast in the drama Proof (2005), alongside Anthony Hopkins. It got positive reviews.

Between 2005 and 2011, he appeared in JarheadBrokeback MountainZodiacBrothersPrince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Love & Drugs, and Source Code.
