Personal Life

John Cena was born in Massachusetts, the second of five children. He married Elizabeth Huberdeau in 2009 and filed for divorce in 2012. Later that year, he started a relationship with fellow wrestler Nikki Bella.

Cena and Bella got engaged in April 2017 but ended their relationship a year later. In October 2020, he married his girlfriend Shay Shariatzadeh after being involved with her since 2019.

Education

He attended Central Catholic High School, Massachusetts, and then transferred to Cushing Academy in the same region. He further studied at Springfield College, graduating in 1999 with a degree in Exercise Physiology.

Career (Wrestling)

Cena started training to be a professional wrestler in 1999 and made his unofficial debut in the then WWF in October 2000 in an episode of SmackDown.

He made his official WWE TV debut on June 24, 2002, answering an open challenge made by Kurt Angle. Between that time and 2016, he made a huge impression in the company and became regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time (he is tied with Ric Flair for the most world championships reigns in pro wrestling history).

From 2017, Cena has been on and off the wrestling circuit, juggling his Hollywood career while making appearances in the WWE.

Film Career

He got his first movie role with the WWE-produced action film The Marine (2006). His next film, also produced by WWE, was the action thriller 12 Rounds (2009).

Cena co-starred in Legendary (2010) and was seen in comedy films like Trainwreck (2015), Sisters (2015), and a cameo in Daddy's Home (2015).

His other movie roles include The Wall (2017), Ferdinand (2017), Bumblebee (2018), Playing with Fire (2019), Dolittle (2020) The Suicide Squad (2021), and Vacation Friends (2021).
