Nkiru Mordi was born on August 12, 1991, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State of Nigeria where she had her primary and secondary education. She dropped out of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka because of sexual harassment from a lecturer.

Her ordeal pushed her to shoot the video ‘Sex for Grades’ which exposes the sexual harassment culture amongst Nigerian and Ghanaian lecturers.

Her career started as a radio presenter at KU Television and Radio, Benin City, in 2015. Kiki Mordi started an online petition to end extortion and exploitation after some Nigerian policemen broke into her home and accused her and her boyfriend of being cultists.

She became Head of Presenting at Women Radio (91.7FM), Lagos in August 2017. She is a BBC Eye reporter and founder of ‘Documentary for Women’.

On October 7, 2019, Kiki and her BBC Africa Eye team released a 13-minute documentary that exposed the sexual harassment of students by lecturers at the University of Lagos and the University of Ghana. Dr Boniface Igbeneghu of the University of Lagos, Dr Ransford Gyampo and Dr Paul Kwame Butakor of the University of Ghana were the lecturers implicated in a viral video that came with the documentary.
