He was born on November 8, 1993, in Lagos, where he grew up. He is originally from Bajuwen, Odeda, Ogun state. He graduated from the University of Lagos in 2016 with a second class upper degree in Philosophy.
As an undergraduate, he interned at an oil and gas marketing company, Latjum Global Nigeria Limited, as the personal assistant to the CEO and managing director of the company.
He got a job as a sales and business development personnel at Bestman Games, Ikoyi. He also worked as a personal assistant to the Assistant Director (Welfare) of Administration and Human resources of the ministry.
Laycon started music at a tender age and hasn’t stopped. He was among the ten artistes that performed at the 2014 Coke Studio University of Lagos event. In 2017, he was among the top ten finalists of the 2017 MTV Base LSB Challenge.
On July 19, 2020, he entered the Big Brother’s show as the nineteenth housemate and was crowned the winner on September 27, 2020, with a total vote cast of 60%. He went home with the grand prize of N85 million. He became the first housemate to be verified on Instagram. While still in the house, he reached 1 million followers on Instagram, the first in the history of the show.
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state appointed him as the state’s youth ambassador on October 6, 2020.
