 Letitia Wright was born in Georgetown, Guyana. She and her family relocated to London when she was seven years old.

The actress has talked about her struggle with depression, disclosing that she first experienced it when she was 20. She says her Christian faith helped her get through it.

Education

Wright attended Northumberland Park Community School and enrolled at the Identity School of Acting at the age of 16.

Career

She began performing as an actress in school plays but went professional in the film Akeelah and the Bee (2006).

Wright had roles in My Brother the Devil and Doctor Who before getting the role of Princess Shuri in the superhero film Black Panther (2018).

The Marvel blockbuster proved to be her breakout role and brought her international recognition.

The star reprised the role of Shuri in the sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2021).
