Mercy Aigbe

She was born on January 1, 1978, in Benin City, but she grew up in Lagos. She attended Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikeja for her secondary education. Upon completion of her secondary education, she proceeded to The Polytechnic, Ibadan where she obtained a National Diploma in Financial Studies. She also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos.

After her graduation, she started out with soap operas. Her acting debut was in a movie titled ‘Ara’. Her outstanding performance in the movie paved way for her in Nollywood. Mercy has gone on to appear in several movies and has risen to prominence in the Nigerian film industry.

Some of the movie she has appeared in include, Satanic, Afefe Ife, Atunida Leyi, Igberaga, Ipese, Iro Funfun, Omoge Osas, Ile Oko Mi, Victims, The Screenplay, Little Drops of Happy, 200 Million, Second Acts, Lagos Real Fake Life

In November 2014, Mercy launcher her clothing store ‘Mag Divas Boutique in Lagos. She also went on to open another branch in Ibadan.

PERSONAL LIFE

Mercy Aigbe got married to Lanre Gentry, a hotelier, in 2013. They both had two children and three stepdaughters. However, she separated from her husband after sharing photos of herself being assaulted by her husband in 2017.
